The Inshore Marine Monitoring Program (MMP) is designed to detect changes in reef communities adjacent to the Wet Tropics, Burdekin, Mackay, Whitsunday and Fitzroy Natural Resource Management Regions. Parasitic diseases and parasites in general are enormous in numbers. In fact, parasites alone encompass more than half of all known animal species. Accordingly, the agents causing fish diseases are diverse, including viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. This set of two books aims to present disease-causing agents from all these major categories.

    h. Bacterial Gill Disease: This disease is caused by Myxobacteria in salmon fish. Many bacteria are found in swollen gill lamellae which show proliferation of the epithelium, and symptoms are lack of appetite. This disease is transmitted through water from infected fish. It can be treated with ppm timsan or 1 ppm copper sulphate. It also includes the Survey Materials for AGRRA surveyors to conduct their surveys. These in-depth training materials are to aid identification of benthos, coral and fish in addition to the Instruction guides for conducting monitoring surveys, how to make survey equipment, data .

The research group has looked at what diseases the fish have and how they affect fish behaviour. The research group searched for 46 different disease-causing factors, so-called pathogens, and. surveys A technical handbook ISSN FAO FISHERIES TECHNICAL PAPER Rome, Prepared by Constantine Stamatopoulos Senior Fishery Data Officer Fishery Information, Data and Statistics Unit FAO Fisheries Department Sample-based fishery surveys A .
